I initially read excerpts from Love Again on Essence.com and wanted to read more, so I ordered the book. What I discovered were thoughts and feelings written from a male perspective that surprisingly, reflected a lot of emotions and pain very similar to my own. The author shares things that men don't often open up about, and as a woman I can honestly appreciate that. In addition, he shares more about who he is as a man in general, including how he feels about and cherishes family relationships and valuable friendships. Through reading, you're able to see his growth, and how despite the pain of his experiences, he gained a lot of clarity in retrospect, and that's what it's all about - learning, healing and moving forward. I feel that this is a book that many will be able to relate to in some way, and I highly recommend it.
This book was recommended to me by a blogger of whom I frequently follow. Just like she said, it was an excellent work of art and when you read it, it is hard to put it down! I really appreciate the author being willing to let the reader into the private affairs of his heart and I personally found it helpful to understand how a few divorcees I know may feel. I enjoyed the book and gifted it to a friend. Definitely worth reading!
