If you like cocktail recipes...this book is for you. If you like great photography...this book is for you. If you like scintillating stories with a spicy edge...this book is for you. There is so much to love about this book and when it's all added together it's like getting three great books in one. Cheri's stories are scenes that you can imagine and you feel pulled into the action. She writes sexy talk that made me blush...in a very good way. Read it out loud with a loved one and see what happens. I fully recommend this debut by Ms. Loughlin.
Fair warning--it's porn. Extremely well-written, saucy, and seductive. Three things make this book a fun read the author writes in first-person, so you feel as though you're reading someone's diary or receiving very naughty, intimate E-mails; most of the "trysts" take place in public places, just out of view, so you feel the danger of discovery; the book is well-produced. It includes erotic, but tasteful photos and cocktail recipes whose names allude to the story that you just read. The writing is tactile and sensuous; the author lingers on--Every. Single. Detail. If you're in the mood for something steamy, you'll want to pick this one up.
I honestly did not care for this book. I read the blurb, and I understand that this was supposed to be erotic stories, but I can't help but feel that this was borderline pornographic.
Female best friends getting together sexually, a customer and a lingerie saleswoman having sex in a dressing room, a woman and her guy having a three some with a stripper at the strip club? It reads more like something you would read on a sex site instead of in an erotic book. I guess everyone's definition of "erotic" is different, this not being mine. I also didn't like the writing in the first-person perspective.
I gave this three stars because the drink recipes did look interesting.

Each of the stories in this book are told in a woman’s point of view and there’s an understood male “you” that she seems to be writing to. Almost as if these were either letters of her experiences or these were from a shared lovers journal. Each story tells of a different tryst, the scenarios include M/F, F/F, F/F/M. This doesn’t bother me, but in case it does you, I’m putting that there. Otherwise, I’d have not mentioned it. These stories are explicit. There is some blunt language, but some of it is softened up too. The stories are well written and are definitely on the HAWT end. And after each story are a couple of drink recipes that go along with the story. Each recipe seems to be well thought out and put together with a description of what to expect when you drink it, or if there’s a classic drink that inspired it. How tasty are these beverages? I don’t know yet. I haven’t had time to explore that, but once I do, I’ll be sure to post another review here on that part of the book.
Ms. Loughlin definitely has a grasp on writing in the moment. Giving enough detail to make it complete and whole without glossing over things in the effort to keep it short. I also like the personal feel of her stories. Though many books are written in first person, this particular one feels as though I’m reading the shared journal between lovers instead of a story. I can’t really pick out my favorite story, because they’re all equally titillating. So, would I recommend this book? I would, but to a very limited group of people. I’ve already recommended it to one friend. She loves to be teased and mix cocktails, so this book is perfectly up her alley. DEFINITELY not for those under 18 (for the stories) and 21 (for the drinks).
Whether it is the delightful cocktail recipes or the titillating stories....Ms. Loughlin will leave something buzzing!!!! Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
